And if drinking isn’t your thing I’ve got just as many sober-socials in the works, I’m all about everyone feeling included.

Hi all, I would absolutely love to be your Rec Social Secretary for Badminton. I have so many ideas of fun socials to bring the whole society together!! Please check out my poster!

I’m Cameron, a second-year student who believes that badminton isn’t just about smashing shuttles—it’s about smashing pints, dance floors, and the occasional regrettable karaoke note. I’m confident that I would be the perfect successor to continue the great legacy left behind by the legendary Bertie (and Isaac). That’s why I’m running to be your next Social Secretary!

From organising INSANE club nights out to Otley runs, Secret Socials and fridge-to-fridges that test both endurance and fridge capacity, I will serve up INCREDIBLE nights.

And for those who prefer to live healthier lifestyles, fear not— I believe there should be more EPIC sober socials. Bowling, mini golf, and poker nights will all be on the cards (because sometimes it’s nice not to require a visit to the Welfare Sec the next morning).

Although admittedly my badminton skills are hit or miss, my socials will always be a smash—whether you’re into nights out, nights in, or nights where you mysteriously wake up wearing a traffic cone. Vote for me, and let’s make this the best year yet—both on and off the court! 🏸🍻

If you love badminton but also fun themed nights out (such as the classic Revs, Popworld and Mischief) and chilled evenings such as quizzes and movie nights then I am the rec social sec you need! Joining badminton society has been one of the best decisions I’ve made at Leeds, I made some great friends and memories through badminton, particularly through the socials.
I would want to make sure everyone can find a place in badminton that suits them, therefore I would ensure that socials are catered to everybody's needs- whether it be a big night out or a more chilled one. Joining a society was a great way to meet people and I would want to make badminton society a welcoming, inclusive community both in the sport and socially. I can understand how joining a society can be daunting, especially for freshers, so I’d want to be someone people can turn to for any concerns- badminton related or not.

Vote for me and I promise your Wednesdays next year will be guaranteed to be packed with great memories (and plenty of Mischief socials).
