Heya !! My name is Maz and I’m currently going into second year studying Fine Art. I’ve been involved with Art Society before, being Life Drawing (Assistant General) Secretary last year, I joined late and had about 2 months in this position, but I really enjoyed it ! I would really love returning to this role and believe my experience would be an integral part of the new committee, as I understand how things work and can bring my knowledge into next year. I am also very involved with the society and come to workshops when I can and was a consistent member at Life Drawing before becoming part of committee. As an autistic person, I am incredibly committed to autistic accessibility, and whilst art society is accessible as a society, I would also try and help organise other events such as sensory and mindfulness to make art society feel like even more of an accepting place for the autistic and neurodivergent community. I believe that art soc is a welcoming space to people from all degrees and I hope to continue this, keeping the society a friendly environment for everyone. As mentioned before, as a committee member last year I understand how to put up tickets and fulfil the role to my best capacities which would make me a helpful asset to a new committee. Most importantly, I think having a friendly face at events can help people, and I am always up for starting conversation about art or anything so please do come talk to me !!
