About me:
Hello, I'm Ashley, a 2nd year Nutrition student. Many of you may know me for my social media presence via DiceSoc and MTGSoc. I've worked as Social Media Officer of DiceSoc this year and have been re-elected. Additionally, I served as Founder and Secretary of MTGSoc and have been elected President. During my time in both committees I have developed leadership skills, written a grant application, and have gained knowledge in event planning. As such I have the sufficient experience to represent the amazing general interest societies here at LUU.

My Manifesto:

Communication:
Communication is such an important part of life, without communication there wouldn't be university societies. This is especially key in a role as important as General Interest Rep where I act as the glue holding us all together!
As such I have a couple of ideas to implement to better improve inter-society communication:
- Create a group chat with all official instagrams to act as a hub to organise collaborations and advertise events
- Launch "General Interest Society Of The Week". I will invite all our societies the opportunity to join me in a short interview style advert to get your societies some advertisement and encourage students to try your activities!

Grants!
As General Interest Rep I would serve on the Activities Exec and therefore would be one the decision makers on whether a grant is approved. I will strive to have an open door and give societies advice on their applications before submitting so that they can get the funding they deserve to run their amazing activities!

Maintaining Crossroads:
I would help ensure that the legacy of our fantastic current rep, Louis, will be maintained in a respectful manner and can be continued to be used as the incredible space that it is for years to come. Petitioning to change the key card system of Crossroads. I have had many complaints from societies using Crossroads that the key card is difficult to acquire due to multiple occasions of the security number going to voicemail. I would instead propose giving a tracked keycard to each society that completes a crossroads induction or another alternative.

Geek Night:
I have helped organise previous Geek Nights and I will continue the legacy of running this incredible collaboration, the best club night in Leeds! This is brilliant opportunity to make friends and memories for years to come and the union would have a huge loss without it, so I believe it's imperative to continue it.
