Hi everyone, I am Iman Taqi and I am running to be your Event Secretary this year! Alongside my experience of fundraising and participation in the community engagement projects, I am an active member of the law society. As someone who had never lived in the UK before coming to university, LawSoc provided me with amazing opportunities to get know people from various backgrounds and as such, I aim to organise events that are inclusive and can cater to everyone’s liking. Being the head of the sports team in high school as well as part of the Leeds United Nations Committee, I was responsible for organising various events such as conferences, competitions, social gatherings and much more. My involvement in various law courses and projects with the university as well as different law firms has also given me a lot of exposure to the legal sector. I am also very approachable and am open to suggestions for events for the upcoming year. I believe this proves that I am best suited for this role as I have the required knowledge and skills to communicate with the different sub-committees and arrange fun and memorable events as expressed in my manifesto! Hi! My name is Larissaa Gupta. I am currently a first-year law student running to be your next events secretary. I have quite experience in hosting events. I have led many events since middle school. Being the Hall Executive here, with the help of my other colleagues, we hosted Charles Morris Christmas Ball and Terrace Nights. During high school, I hosted a lot of events, among which was a 5-day regional conference in which students from around South Asia and the Gulf participated and there were various keynote speakers talking about sustainability, climate change, and the greenhouse effect. The main attraction of the event was one to one meeting with H.H. Dalai Lama. I believe that I am the best choice for this position as I have tons of past experience.
Based on my experience and the innovative ideas I possess, I would like you to give me the chance provide the best events and enjoyable time to you.
