Hola amigos! I am Beatrice, a fellow law student like you surviving law school, but with a deep passion for debating. I started getting involved with debates in high school as a year 9 kid and now I am addicted to it like its Tik Tok! Listening to different convincing arguments and rebuttals is so exciting and interesting. It reminds me of the Netflix show called, “How to Get Away with Murder” (if you haven’t watched it yet, then I highly recommend it, it’s in my top favourites for a reason!). Watching the amazing Annalise Keating arguing her case so effectively and convincingly was so extraordinary and interesting. That’s the same excitement I feel when I am debating, and I want you guys to experience that too, I am not selfish! I would be glad to be your Debating Secretary because I want to make sure that you achieve your potential and develop as many vital skills and experience which would help you in the future. In sixth form I became a law student ambassador twice and in high school I was a senior prefect and the leader of the IT club. This shows that I was very reliable and trustworthy. I am also well organised, and I am good at time management, this is because I use my journal to manage my time. If you vote for me, I promise you that I will do my best in ensuring that you reap the benefits of the debating society and I really mean it!

Hey, I’m Kirti Bhardwaj, you may have seen me at the steps of the town hall reciting poetry at a women's march or at a party rambling about how Shrek 2 is one of the best movies ever made. I have been to over 20 competitions in various different debate styles, at which I have won several best speaker awards. While I’m a fierce competitor in the debate rooms, I’m quite an outgoing, and affable person all around. My experience at the COP 26 Climate Debate and the Junior Debating competition which were hosted by the law soc this year has given me insight into what it takes to win a competition and a better understanding of the responsibility the position holds. My engagement with different styles of debate such as British Parliamentary, World, Lincoln-Douglas makes me well equipped to resolve any doubts newcomers may have. While being passionate is a cliche since the times of Schopenhauer, I’m confident that with 7 different competitions this year alone, my passion for debate is indisputable, and I look forward to organizing debates and making you all fall in love with this artform I love so dearly.

Hi! I’m Yujie Feng, your enthusiastic debater with 6 years debating experience. Having said that, I’m easy to get along with and cry at films when I’m not debating. My friends describe me mostly as reliable and funny and you can tell whether that’s true. As a debater who has been to various tournaments, from regional to national level, I gained solid knowledge and debating skills and I feel blood-boiling excitement to bring what I learned to this community I love. I’m also learning and I hope to make the resources that I find helpful accessible to everyone. Debating is such a fruitful and surprising journey and if you haven’t felt the same way, I hope my workshops and upcoming fun activities will guide you into the debating gate. I’ve been trying my best living up to others’trust and I‘ll be really grateful if I could have yours.
