Hi, I'm Hiba and I’d love to be your first year rep for Access to Med. I’m passionate about making the medical field more diverse and enabling people from many different backgrounds to pursue a career in medicine.

Having come from a relatively diverse school, with kids from all walks of life, I know just how useful schemes like this can be, especially for those who wish to go into medicine but feel like they can’t access it. I myself have ran mock MMIs in school before, along with brief overviews of personal statements and even (god forbid) a little bit of UCAT help.

If I were elected to be a representative, I’d definitely try to arrange school talks, just to help break down the lengthy process of applying to medicine, and make it a little bit less overwhelming for those who may be interested. These would be aimed at year 10 and above, to help really develop a solid interest in medicine.

I’m excited to support and actively take part in this society, and help to make a significant difference in people’s lives. Thank you for your time, and I’d love for you to vote!

Hi, I’m Yusuf, a first year med student and I’m seeking your vote to be elected as the first year rep for A2M.

I first heard about A2M last year during the application process, when I attended a Mock MMI workshop here at Leeds. The experience showed me how vital the work of this society is, to help other students enter the field of Medicine, regardless of their background.

I’m passionate to tackle health inequalities, and one of the best ways to do reduce these is to build a more diverse workforce, with Doctors from all walks of life.

As your rep, I’ll push for more initiatives just like the workshop I attended myself, to support everyone; future and current med students.
