I am personally from a working class background and I have first hand experience of the barriers widening participation students face to get into medical school as I have overcome them myself. I am passionate about providing the support I wish I had to those on the same journey and I strongly believe that medicine should be equal and open to everyone. I have many exciting ideas to put forward for the society and I’ve loved working as a team within the committee this past academic year. I hope to get the opportunity to do so again to continue the amazing things we have achieved so far.

I'm Rosie, currently in my third year of medical school. Being from a working-class background myself, I understand the challenges these communities face when getting to the point of considering applying to medical school, let alone navigating the application process. This is why I feel so passionate about the work of this society.

It's no secret that medical and healthcare student demographics often lack diversity. I strongly believe that everyone in the medical field should be actively involved in addressing this issue. Different life experiences bring different skills to the table, and it's crucial to have that reflected in our healthcare workforce.

I've demonstrated my commitment to inclusion through my work as a Student Ambassador and my involvement with the Armitage Foundation. I regularly visit local high schools, especially those with disadvantaged students, to encourage them to pursue careers in healthcare.

I'm really interested in the content coordinator role. I think my personal experiences could bring a valuable perspective to the position. I already have some great ideas to share with the committee. I'm organized, creative, and work well in teams, so I'm confident I could make a meaningful contribution to our goals.
