I would love to be apart of this committee because i’ve seen first hand how their events influence the next generation of hopeful medics. Taking part in the mock interview event hosted by A2M gave me the opportunity to see how this society gives students from various different backgrounds the same chance to improve their application.
Joining the committee would allow me to further my involvement with the good work that they provide and I want to help inspire the next generation of medics.
By being a 3rd year rep I’ll be able to spread the word of this society’s work and their influence on different students which will help to widen the engagement we get from other students. This in turn will better the events carried out for the aspiring students.
As a motivated student, I enjoy getting involved in events to ensure that a great experience is had by all!

With experience as a year rep before with A2M, I have actively engaged with my peers throughout the year to promote the society and its events. This involved communicating in group chats and directly engaging with my year, answering any questions about the society and its activities. Additionally, due to helping out at events like their mock MMI, I have an understanding of how the society wants to achieve their goal.

I want to be a part of this society due to my belief in equal opportunity for aspiring doctors, irrespective of their background. I firmly advocate for inclusive pathways to medicine, and I believe the A2M society can help achieve that goal. By providing invaluable opportunities for students to refine their MMI skills, receive personalised feedback on personal statements, and access advice through a soon-to-be-launched newsletter, the society empowers aspiring medics from all walks of life to pursue their dreams with confidence.

Hi everyone, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Third Year Representative for the A2M Society.
As third year representative, my main objective will be to enhance year-group engagement in our societies events. I recognise how crucial it is to create inclusive and engaging learning opportunities for all students. By getting actively involved with event planning and marketing, as well as leading discussions amongst my peers and active involvement myself, my goal is to guarantee that every individual in our year group feels inspired to partake in the enriching activities provided by A2M soc.
Communication is key to building a vibrant and connected community, and I am committed to actively engaging with my peers. I will regularly post updates and information about society events on our year group chats, ensuring that everyone is well-informed and enthusiastic about upcoming activities. Additionally, I will be readily available to answer any questions and address any concerns that my fellow students may have, fostering an environment of transparency and accessibility within our year group.
My passion to join A2M stems from my respect for the society. There is a common misconception that there is a lack of talent within widening participation communities, but I firmly believe there instead is a lack of opportunity. Societies like A2M help students access more opportunities, diversifying our healthcare system and bringing in new, deserved talent and not letting misconceptions halt progression into the field. I know first-hand the value of having contacts to ask questions and get resources from during my own application. I love the idea of students having a go-to point of call so we can answer queries, and provide reassurance and support, and direct them to valuable resources during their applications to medical school.
One of my greatest strengths is my ability to connect with people and build meaningful relationships. Throughout my time at university, I have worked diligently to forge strong bonds across our year group, earning the trust and respect of my peers. I believe that effective leadership begins with listening to the needs and perspectives of others, and I am dedicated to representing the interests of our diverse student body and ensuring community-wide engagement with events.
In conclusion, I am deeply committed to promoting engagement, communication, and inclusivity within our year group as the Third Year Representative for the Access To Medicine Society.
