Hi I’m Aimee and I’m currently in my 3rd year of medicine!

After spending this last year as outreach officer for A2M, I would love to continue my support and passion for this society as careers coordinator this next academic year.

I pledge to be an active and dedicated member of this society with widening participation being close to my heart as someone from a working class background who struggled immensely through a rigorous application process that I had little support on.

It is incredibly important as a careers coordinator to be in close communication with the committee to organise events for prospective medical students from minority backgrounds. As A2M becomes more widespread, I have many ideas for this next academic year for events and spreading awareness of medicine as a career in general including the continuation of our highly successful mock MMI, visiting schools and colleges to spread awareness, as well as medicine taster days with certificates awarded. It would be an honour to be able to continue working with A2M.

As a PALS2 Co-Lead, events coordinator for EndoSoc as well as outreach officer for A2M, I believe I have the appropriate experience required to successfully fulfil this role with the goal of widening the opportunities for prospective medical students to build a successful application to medicine.
