Hi, I'm Nikita! With prior experience as a year rep with A2M, I actively engaged with my year group to promote the society and its events. Through my involvement in events and meetings, I've come to understand A2M's mission and I want to contribute to it more.

Now, I'm keen to step into the role of EDI officer. I firmly believe in equal opportunity for aspiring doctors, regardless of their background. Despite the efforts made in increasing student diversity in medicine, there remains much work to be done. The impact of early disadvantages can even persist throughout one's medical education and professional career.

This society provides invaluable opportunities for students to practice their interview skills, receive personalised feedback on personal statements, and access advice through a soon-to-be-launched newsletter, empowering aspiring medics from any background to pursue medicine. They have also helped open a food bank within the medical school to help current students. I'm enthusiastic about contributing to the society by organising additional activities and explore new avenues to diversify our outreach efforts.
