mabuhay filsoc! i’m vee and i’m running for the 2024/25 filipino society treasurer.

being a member of filsoc and watching this year's committee run, i recognise the family spirit and importance of collaboration and hope to display the same attitude and passion towards running filsoc alongside a very strong team given the candidate lineup.

previously, i've always taken on financial roles in group projects such as young enterprise where i managed the finances of a student-led startup business which tasks included tracking the inflows and outflows, updating the other shareholders on our financial status and bringing ideas to crowdfund our business much like this role. having previously studied economics and continuing my studies with maths, i'd say i'm more than comfortable with handling the numbers.

for next year, as treasurer i would plan to increase our funding in order to host more events to get everyone involved. this could possibly be by collaborating with local businesses (like mr su's and maybe even jolibee?) to get special perks for our filsoc members which will increase membership purchases. i think that a big part of making this community a family is by having frequent events for everyone to meet, especially through common ground by spreading and celebrating filipino culture with everyone!
