Hi! I'm Matilda and I'm a 2nd year Classical Civilisations student! I have rediscovered my passion for reading this year through book club and I would love to be on your committee for 2024/5 as treasurer. As someone with previous experience working in an administrative role with financial responsibilities, I hope to make the best use of our budget!

My goals include:
- Encourage members to get involved in society fundraising- raffles, quiz nights, used book sales
- Integrate book club merchandise into the yearly budget -sweatshirts, t-shirts etc.
- Reach out to sponsors to allow for further funding

I love book club’s warm and inviting environment and I would love to play a larger part in creating a great experience for our members!

Hello! I'm Unaiza, a 1st year Physics with Astrophysics student. Since joining Book Club this year, I've been able to keep up my love for reading, and meet lots of lovely, like-minded people. I've loved being a member of Book Club this year, and I want to get more involved with it - which is why I've decided to run for Treasurer.
From completing work experience with Kielder Observatory, to creating my own small business, I believe I have the skills necessary to fully utilise this role and the society's budget. Also, being a physicist, I absolutely love maths and I think this will be super fun!

My goals for 2024/25 include:
1. Membership growth - I want to install a refer-a-friend programme, which will help increase our member numbers, as well as, giving current members perks when getting a friend to join.
2. Fundraising - To raise money for our society, I'd like to organise different fundraising events, including bake sales and used book sales. This money could go towards various socials chosen by our members.
3. Book donations - I want to implement a way to receive book donations from students across the university. This way we can save on buying books and use this money elsewhere.
