Hi everyone! I’m Vanya and I am running to be your Events and Social Excursion Secretary for the year 2024/ 2025. I am currently a first year International Business and Marketing student.

During my tenure as a Social Media Marketing Intern at Endorphins Entertainment, I gained valuable insights and hands-on experience in event promotion and management. This experience has equipped me with a solid understanding of the intricacies involved in event management and has prepared me well for the responsibilities of the Events and Social Excursion Secretary.


My creativity allows me to generate innovative ideas for events, ensuring they are engaging and memorable for our members. Whether it's creating unique themes or planning exciting activities, I can bring fresh and engaging concepts to our events.

I excel in time management, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and deadlines are met without sacrificing quality. This skill is crucial for organising events effectively and ensuring they run smoothly.

Hello everyone, my name’s Luke and I’m running to be the Events Secretary for LUBS next year,

I’ll hopefully be starting my masters in September after doing my 3 year undergraduate degree in Accounting & Finance during which time I have been an active member of LUBS, gaining an insight into just what makes the society tick and what members enjoy the most.

I’m applying for this role because I really enjoy organising events that are fun and enjoyable which everyone can get involved with and can benefit from being a part of the whole society.

I’ve spent the last year as social secretary of Leeds Padel Society,

My work has included organising weekly socials and larger events like termly tournaments as well as a trip to Harrogate to play Padel at the Surge Padel centre and recently organising a weekend tour to Nottingham where we played matches against Nottingham Trent Uni and of course had a night out in Nottingham. We’re also in the process of planning our end of year celebrations.

I think this experience in organising events and trips, arranging transport, venue hire & accommodation etc, throughout the past year would help me in this role if I am successful.

Being a part of LUBS for three years has allowed me to get a feel for the society, what matters and what members value and desire most and I’ll do my best to ensure you get exactly what you want out of the society.

My plans for the role if elected:

- Organising a fun and exciting annual trip abroad with input from you, the members

- Hosting an end of year ball that is also inspired with member involvement

- Assisting with any other LUBS events throughout the year

- Supporting all other committee members in their roles to ensure the society runs smoothly

- Ensuring good value for money in all the events organised

Gimme that black card

Dear members of the LUBS community, please see below an outline of my aims and goals if I am to be successful in being elected as the events and social excursions secretary:

Promoting participation - with thoroughly planned events and trips I am confident that I can maximise member participation, making such events more enjoyable for all.

Collaboration - I believe that collaboration within the society as well as with other societies is key to ensuring successful events and this will be at the forefront of any future events I may put forward to the committee.

Clear Communication - I will provide clear and timely information about upcoming excursions surrounding details like costs and itineraries with the help of other members of the committee, ensuring members are informed at every step of the way.

New Experiences - I will attempt to provide new and different locations for the annual LUBS trip abroad, keeping existing members engaged and encouraging new members to get involved.

With your support, I believe that I, alongside the committee, can create a calendar of events and excursions that will make the next academic year a memorable one.
