Hi! I’m Ruby, and I’m hoping to become social secretary next year!

I’ve been practising yoga for about 4 years now. When I started I was really ill, and yoga helped me to find moments of relief and acceptance, where I felt grounded and more at home in my body. Since then yoga has stayed a major factor in my journey of recovery, which has made me passionate about helping others access the benefits of yoga that have improved my life so much. I would love to create events which help society members to feel a sense community and support around their yoga practise.

I believe that as social secretary I could organise events that reflect the differing needs of our society members, ensuring that everyone has a space to relax, connect with others, and have fun. I am passionate about organising events that support wellbeing and relaxation, as well as helping members to gain new experiences and explore the local area in a supportive environment. I would work closely with the social media secretary to ensure that there is always an option for members to give feedback on events, which would help me to tailor socials to the interests of the community.

The accessibility of socials is very important to me, and I would work hard to ensure that they are affordable and welcoming to everyone. I would also love to work with other societies to support diversity in our community and give members the opportunity to try new things.

I hope that you will consider me for social secretary as I am confident that I can provide the society with lovely socials and ensure that your feedback is heard and acted upon. I am passionate about supporting the wellbeing of our community through socials which promote joy, connection and stress-relief.
