Hi Yogis!

My name is Yashvi Avasti, and I'm thrilled to be part of the Yoga Soc community as we embark on an exciting journey together. As a penultimate year International Business with Industrial Placement student, I've been fortunate to experience the transformative power of yoga in my life. I'm passionate about fostering an inclusive and diverse environment within Yoga Soc, where everyone feels welcome regardless of gender or background.

Drawing on my experience as a nature leader and my involvement in various leadership roles, I'm excited to take on the responsibility of leading Yoga Soc in the academic year 2024 to 2025. I've always believed in pushing boundaries and embracing new challenges, whether it's serving as a course rep, volunteering for organizations like GAIN and Leeds Mencap, or interning in a Marketing and Commercial Operations Role. Now, I'm eager to apply that same energy and enthusiasm to grow Yoga Soc within our university community.

In addition to maintaining the fantastic work of the previous committee, I have some exciting plans in store for the future of Yoga Soc:
-Introducing more meditation sessions to our weekly/monthly schedule, providing members with even more opportunities for relaxation and self-reflection.
-Hosting frequent social events where we can come together as a community to connect, unwind, and share our love for yoga.
-Organizing guest speaker events featuring yoga instructors and wellness experts. These events will cover a range of topics including nutrition, Ayurveda, mindfulness practices for students, and more, allowing yogis to understand holistic wellness and expand their knowledge.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the outgoing committee for their dedication and hard work. Your efforts have laid a strong foundation for us to build upon, and I'm truly grateful for all that you've done.

Thus, I am ready to provide my experience, ideas, and networks to ensure that we keep growing our community. Thank you for your time, and I really hope I can win your vote to become the next Yoga Soc President.
