Being British-Korean, I possess a deeply ingrained understanding of cultural integration. This lived experience fuels my aspiration to cultivate LUKS into a truly inclusive space where students from all backgrounds feel a genuine sense of belonging, thereby enriching the society’s overall diversity and inclusivity.

My commitment extends beyond mere representation; I aim to proactively prioritise the well-being of new members, recognising that their initial experiences are crucial for long-term engagement. By fostering an environment of open communication and mutual respect, I intend to ensure that LUKS becomes a supportive network where every voice is valued.

Furthermore, I envision a dynamic program of events that not only celebrates the richness and vibrancy of Korean culture but also actively seeks collaborations with other societies. This synergistic approach will broaden our reach, expose our members to diverse perspectives, and contribute to a more interconnected and culturally aware student body.

Hi, I am Sejin Hwang, a second year Music and Music Psychology student. I am a friendly and approachable person, who loves to listen! I want to be a part of the Korean Society to give back what I have gotten to the community. I wish this society can be a free and friendly space where everyone can laugh, feel a sense of belonging, connect, support, and grow together. I will try my best to achieve this goal with my leadership experiences. As a former student vice president, I have learned how to be a mediater between people, support and lead from behind, how to respect and balance different perspectives — and I’m ready to bring that experience to the society. I love listening to people and finding common ground. I believe every team needs someone who can understand and accept different voices and help connect them.
