Hello everyone!

I'm Emilia, a 1st law student and aspiring solicitor, and I’m running to be your social secretary for next year. I grew up in Leeds, so I know the city like the back of my hand, including all of the places to go out and have fun! I love exploring new cities, and have a financially unfortunate matcha addiction! But most importantly, I’m hardworking, motivated, and ready to bring exciting and inclusive socials to our society.

What relevant experience do I have which would make me a successful social secretary?
I have first-hand experience in event planning and managing social gatherings:
-As a Senior Prefect and Student Ambassador, I helped plan and run various academic and social events, equipping me with the skills of organisation and multi-tasking.
-I’m volunteering at the Empower Conference, working as a team to ensure the events of the conference move smoothly.
-Working at a bar, I know how to handle crises when things don’t go as planned, meaning that I can effectively make sure that all members of the society stay safe at socials and tackle situations if needed. Additionally, I know exactly what makes a great social!

What are my goals and ideas as social secretary?
As Social Secretary, I want to create fun, inclusive, and engaging socials for everyone to enjoy and get involved in:
-More sober socials – Think murder mystery, game nights, and crafting events.
-Tipsy Moot & Negotiation Socials – A lighthearted way to bring law into our nights out!
-Themed, sports society-styled Wednesday socials – Not everyone may be part of a sports society and Wednesday night sports socials are for sure unique, I want to bring that to all members of the society regardless if you play a sport at university or not.
-Karaoke & Quiz Nights – to bring more variety into socials.
-Regular polls – To ensure YOU have a say in what events we hold!

So why should you vote for me?
I’m approachable, creative, and experienced in event planning and social management. I want to bring fresh ideas while making sure everyone feels included, whether you love a big night out or prefer a chill evening with friends.

Vote Emilia Kuchta for Social Secretary – Let’s make socials better for everyone!

Hi Everyone, my name is Amber Dean, and I am running to be your next Social Secretary.

I am a member of Women’s Hockey, and am not afraid to admit that I know Warehouse like the back of my hand!

I am a very sociable person, but as a fresher I know first-hand just how overwhelming university can be. I think that a range of socials are invaluable for meeting new people, making friends, giving you something to look forward to and having a laugh away from the stresses of your degree. After all, you won’t remember each lecture in years to come, but will remember having fun alongside friends at socials. I want to facilitate these life-long memories for all Law Society members!

My campaign is focused on YOU! I want to make the socials as inclusive, memorable, affordable and fun for everyone. It is not just about massive bar tabs (although we all know students do love free drinks!), but also day-time, sober socials. I’d love to hear your opinions on what socials you would like to get involved with and will achieve this through regular polls.

As well as my experiences organising and budgeting for whole-school charity and social events as Deputy Head Girl, my current rep links to Fresh2Death and Mischief will be invaluable. I already have a working relationship with these companies (you may have seen me on the door of Bobby’s!) and I am used to selling and promoting social events.

My name is Zoe Drewitt, and I am running to be your next Social Secretary.

As a fresher this year, I’ve experienced first-hand how important fun and engaging socials are in helping people settle in and meet new people. The Law Society’s socials are already brilliant, and I’m passionate about building on that next year.

My goal is to create socials that truly reflect what you, the members, want to see - whether that’s themed socials, big nights out or more casual meetups. By listening to your ideas and feedback, I want to ensure the socials are inclusive, exciting, and help bring everyone together.

Hey everyone, I’m Joe Wilson, and I’m running for Law Society Social Secretary to bring you bigger, better, and more affordable socials.

I know what makes a great night out – I’ve worked in hospitality and events for two years, I DJ, and I love bringing people together. From venue takeovers and cheap club tickets to live music nights, coffee meetups, and themed socials, I’ll make sure everyone finds their crowd—socials that suit everyone, not just drinkers. Most importantly, I’ll make sure you’re getting the best deals possible – cheaper club tickets, huge bar tabs, exclusive discounts, and socials that don’t break the bank.

Law socials should be affordable, accessible, and unmissable—and that’s what I’ll deliver. Vote Joe for a better deal for law students!

Hey everyone, I'm Will, a 2nd year Law student running for Social Secretary.

If you've come to UoL, you want to have a good time, and that's my desire too. I already have experience as a social secretary at uni, and I have hosted socials and secured tickets such as Full Fat Thursdays. Being a second year, I have experienced many different socials, and learnt which places are best, and which are so expensive the bar tab goes within 30 minutes. Trust me, with me as Social Sec, that will not be happening again.

But, surprise surprise, I have interests outside of drinking. I enjoy the gym, music, mini golf and exploring. Now while I can't promise 50 law students renting out a gym for the day or all coming together to release a song, I do think interests such as mini golf or scavenger hunts could be great for socials, due to their low cost and equal accesibility for those who drink and those who don't. Suggestions for other socials are very welcome.
