Daniel Bloomfield

Hi, I’m Daniel and this is why you should vote for me to be your Media Secretary.
Media Secretary is a crucial role in the Law Society, being one of the main factors in how many people join the society, how many members attend its events, and how many sponsorships we secure. This is a huge responsibility, but here’s why you can trust me with your vote:
- Graphic Design: I have many years of graphic design experience, a skill that was learnt through my Media and Product Design studies at school. I will use this talent to create sharp, sleek and professional graphics for the society’s Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn accounts; you can see some examples on my campagin poster.
- Video Editing: I am a self-taught video editor, proficient in both long and short-form content, which will enable me to create engaging TikTok and Instagram content to promote the society’s events, competitions, and sports teams.
- Social Media Growth: I have taken my editing skills to a professional level, working as a content creator for the commercial law newsletter LittleLaw (if you find any of their memes funny, chances are I made them). Furthermore, I am an admin for @PolitlcsGlobal on X (formerly Twitter), which has doubled its follower count to over 30,000 in the few months I have worked there. I have a proven track record of driving social media growth, which will continue in this role, allowing the society to expand its audience and attract new members and sponsors.
- Teamwork, Leadership, and Communication: Playing competitive football for well over 10 years, even occasionally for LawSoc FC, has moulded me into an excellent team player. Furthermore, my extensive work experience, including 18 months as an activity leader at an after-school club, enabled me to develop high-level leadership and communication abilities. All of these skills will be essential to effectively leading the media subcommittee.
- Commitment and Hard Work: I am a thoroughly driven and committed individual and have always been incredibly dedicated to both my studies and my work (I even worked 30 hours a week whilst simultaneously completing 4 A-Levels). I will continue this approach if elected, and will ensure that I am always available and willing to assist other committee members in their media needs.
- Diversity and Inclusion: As someone who spent part of their childhood in South Africa, I have diverse perspective on life and greatly appreciate the importance of involving everyone within our society. Therefore, I will ensure that every member feels welcomed and represented by our social media accounts.
But what are my plans for the role? If you elect me as your Media Secretary I promise to:
- Increase the society’s activity on LinkedIn in order to enhance its professional image and increase recognition from law firms, recruiters, and potential sponsors.
- Recruit a dedicated admin for @leedslawsocsport to ensure consistent posting on the account and drive engagement with the society’s football and netball teams.
- Collaborate with the Law School’s employability officer to promote their careers events and boost attendance.
- Make the society more active on TikTok, by producing creative and engaging content, in line with the latest trends, in order to expand our audience and membership.
- Keep a close eye on all of the Law Society accounts’ private messages to ensure that all requests, questions and enquiries are answered quickly.
But if you’re still not convinced that I am the right person for the job, then feel free to email me at gzqq9426@leeds.ac.uk or DM me on Instagram (@daniel4mediasec) with any questions you have.

Sadia Naima
Who’s Next Media Secretary?
My name is Sadia Naima, and I’m a second year Law student running to be LawSoc’s next Media Secretary.
As Media Secretary, I will promote LawSoc, primarily through social media. This means designing posts that are modern, engaging, but also follow a consistent branding. I will also ensure that all LawSoc social media pages are regularly updated, to ensure that everyone is aware of the events that LawSoc host. Furthermore, I will increase engagement with LawSoc pages, particularly through the use of polls, question boxes etc.
I already have experience in social media management – as I currently run the Instagram pages for SNB and the Poetry Translation Lab. Both roles have required me to design posts that are consistent with a certain branding, and ensuring that these are posted promptly, to ensure that people are aware of our events. Furthermore, I regularly track DMs, ensuring that no one is left hanging – whether it is an individual, an organisation, or another society wanting to collab. I also manage WhatsApp and Discord channels for the society, which entails monitoring the chat, and also taking note of any suggestions or feedback from members, and acting on these. Additionally, whilst sticking to a brand is important, it is equally as important to keep track of social media algorithms and trends – because this is ultimately what boosts engagement the most.
If elected as Media Secretary, I would be able to bring these skills to LawSoc, ensuring better promotion of LawSoc and its events, whilst also increasing engagement between students and LawSoc’s social media channels.

My main aims as media sec are to grow the society’s online recognition beyond its members, establish growth in all areas to reach both student and professional recognition and grow committee online presence so all lawsoc members can more easily recognise their committee. I believe this is all incredibly important in order to make the society even better than it currently is, and would love to be a part of making a growth for lawsoc possible.
