The roles and responsibilities of the Secretary include:

• maintaining membership records containing at least the name, contact email, student number (if applicable) and membership category of all the Society’s members in accordance with the SSAGO InTouch Policy
• maintaining a written record of all meetings, including Committee Meetings, AGMs and any EGMs
• maintaining an up-to-date copy of the Society constitution
• ensuring only Full and Ex-Officio Members are given an opportunity to vote in society elections
• ensuring members are informed of their right to vote in accordance with their membership status
• ensuring the email account is checked regularly and emails are replied to where necessary with support from the President
• maintaining up-to-date health records of all society members
• ensuring the production of risk assessments and attendee lists for trips and events when required and ensure these are uploaded to LUU Engage
• filling in and submitting SSAGO, LUU and other relevant forms (including SSAGO Nights Away Notification Forms and Adventurous Activity Notification Forms) when required with support from the President.
