Hey! I am Amelia. I am second year student studying Classics. I should become president because I have been a part of the society since 2022. I adore being a part of the committee and can't wait to do more for the society next year.

Hi, I’m Anja Lund, a Classical Civilisation student in second year that has been the treasurer for Classics Soc this year. I have enjoyed being on committee and would love the chance to gain experience in another position this year, as President.
The Classics Society has been a hugely positive part of my first two years at Leeds, being the place that I have made most of my friends and had the most fun at university. I would love it if I could help make it an amazing part of my final year as well, finishing my time at Leeds fittingly.
Having already been on the committee in a core position, I have experience in the behind-the-scenes of running of the Classics Society. That, coupled with my very organised personality, means that the society would be run smoothly and efficiently if I were to be President, ensuring that the necessary forms and reports will be submitted on time, meetings will be scheduled, and that events will be planned with plenty of notice. I am fair, making sure that all opinions and voices will be heard before decisions are made as a group, but also capable of making decisions, which is necessary for a President. I am friendly, always being down for a chat, and I am at almost every society event, making me approachable, another necessary quality of a President.
The Classics Society has produced some of my favourite memories at Leeds, including the Athens and Rome trips, and the 2023 Classics Ball. Rounding that off by being President in my final year would make my experience at Leeds even more incredible. I would love to help make some more lovely memories, like putting on another trip abroad, and hopefully a Classics Ball, as well as more of the well-loved arts and crafts and pub quiz socials.
