Hi LUUMC

I've met a lot of you through teaching, socials and in organising trips this year, but for those of you who don't know me, I'm Otto, an avid trad climbing, occasional boulderer and general outdoorsy person. I've grown up with outdoor sports and adventures, properly picking up climbing when I came to university.
Over the past year I have had the joy (and stresses) of organising club trips alongside James, and equally spent time working with our current gear sec Hugh in preparing gear for these trips. With this I've seen the great work Hugh has done and responsibilities that the role holds.

It's probably fair to say I'm a bit of a nerd for gear and absolutely meticulous for taking care of my own equipment, researching the latest gear and always searching for more (my vinted can vouch for that, proof available upon request).
Organisationally, I am just as thorough and my time in organising club trips this year should show this.

In short I know gear (and am always happy to share my knowledge and learn more) and I'm well organised to take care and keep track of LUUMC's gear. The role of gear secretary is on I feel very well suited to and would positively enjoy!

Even though I have only gotten serious about climbing again since joining the society in september, it’s been my highlight of the year so far. Although my knowledge of gear is limited, my enthusiasm for learning about it is huge and I think I would excel as gear sec for the society this year. I am a very organised individual and would do my upmost best to be the best gear sec i can.
