The treasurer loves a good spreadsheet and makes sure the society doesn’t go go broke, this is done by:

• Applying for funding (Gryphon funding, GIAG etc)
• Budgeting for trips and socials
• Setting trips ticket cost
• Creating a total total spending report each year
• Checking and confirming expenses made to the club
• Making sure active members have membership

The role is mainly balancing small/regular expenses along with keeping sufficient funds for large investments into the club (I.e. buying new gear and funding for committee training). Active spending is encouraged so memberships are worthwhile, however leave enough in the bank for future societies. Current policy is to aim for net zero growth.
