Hi, I’m putting myself forward for trip secretary next year. I’ve been lucky enough to go on multiple trips so far this year, all of which have been great and want to be part of the team next year who delivers them. I’m an organised person who’ll happily do the ‘boring’ stuff such as logistics of sign-ups, transport and place allocations along with on-the-day decisions; making everything as smooth as possible or at least seem that way.
The bulk of my outdoor climbing experience has come through the society and people I’ve met through it over the last year. So my knowledge of uk crags is still limited, but with the support of others on committee and some mid-lecture rockfax searching, I’m sure I’ll be able to build up that knowledge and am confident that I’ll be able to plan & deliver some great trips.

Since coming to uni in September, some of my favourite moments have been from the trips with the society. From learning new skills, to visiting amazing crags and even the gruelling insomnia, they’ve always managed to be insanely fun.

If I were to be one of the trip secs next year, I can guarantee you that the trips will continue to be mega! Not only would I want to make sure everyone has the best possible time on the trips, but I’d also love to organise more frequent meets. These wouldn’t have to be exclusively climbing however. I’d love to arrange meets which focus on scrambling as well, as I believe this would be a lot more accessible for many people who are still be developing their sport or trad skills.

I may still be relatively new to climbing, and not the most experienced, but I can promise one thing, if you vote for me, I’ll make sure that the trips are so good, you’d even be excited for the insomnia!
