Hiya gang, it’s Callie.
Having been involved in over 20 shows (Whether PMing, designing, or just doing a night of Front of House for a free hoodie), and after organising a bunch of exciting socials as your Events Officer, I’ve gotten to know so many of the incredible lovely people who make up our society - and I would be honoured to step into the role of President and ensure that we maintain the vibrant, welcoming, and often somewhat chaotic energy that makes Backstage so brilliant.

As President, I would seek out ways to provide new and interesting opportunities for any members looking to grow their skills for a temporary or long-term career in theatre, as well as building strong ties with our fellow performance societies to open new pathways for our members to experience working in other venues around the university. I would also like to draw on the society’s alumni and connections in other theatres in Leeds to organise more backstage tours and industry talks to give people an exciting peek behind the curtain of the theatre industry proper.
