Hey everyone I’m Asher, the 22/23 Publicity & Communications Secretary. I’m the one who wrote the totally humourous newsletters (which I assume everyone reads ;-;) I have been Production Manager for LUU Dance Comp and Dance Show, and I have also been Stage Manager for Rent, Panto and the upcoming Legally Blonde. Some of you might remember me from lying on the floor during show weeks, I promise I am fine.

If I’m elected as Secretary, I would first of all continue efforts to further break down the barrier between committee and general members by publicising committee meetings, increasing transparency by actively reaching out to general members and encouraging more communication. It’s important to remember that the committee is just here to make sure the society exists and we’re all just students who share the same interest in theatre! Being a committee member for a year, I understand how things work such as meetings, organisation of paperwork, and communication with the people who work in the Union. Heading into the 3rd year of my backstage journey, I have pretty much experienced it all including everyone in backstage’s worst nightmare of having to appear and “act” on stage for Panto. Even when elected, I will still remain very approachable and try to look less stressed all the time. (I know am trying)

This year has given me such an unforgettable experience, high school me would never have imagined production managing university-wide shows! I absolutely adore working with every single one of you and I would love to commit more to the society and serve as your secretary next year!
