Current E&I officer and would love to do the role again next year.

This year I have spent time helping run and organise events and making sure these are inclusive, making sure social media posts are accessible, put forward issues to Disability Services and my department school around accessibility issues and networked with other society committees to help raise awareness of our society and build relations.

I would love to work on all this more next year, hopefully on a more university wide level, as I feel there is still a lot I would like to accomplish in this role. I have some ideas in mind for events and ways to try and make steps towards making The University more aware of neurodiverse student issues.

* have ideas of some people to contact for guidance on equality for minority groups in relation to neurodiversity specifically (and hopefully can book them for a talk!) and know other people who campaign in minority communities around the Leeds area who could be useful to talk to in the aim to reach more people from minority backgrounds.

* very willing to learn and get involved in new challenges

Previous experience (prior to being current E&I officer):

At school I was part of a committee called Cafe Scientifique where I took part in running and organising science events, booking speakers and wrote articles for the school newsletter so I have experience in being part of a committee and what it takes to implement ideas and an events.

I was also part of a maths mentoring scheme at school and have since tutored and worked in hospitality so have developed good interpersonal skills and know how to listen and help others.
