Hello everyone, I'm Nav and I'm a 5th year medical student who has a strong interest in infectious diseases, pathology, and reserach! Throughout my time at medical school, I have been able to gain experience in a wide range of medical specialities, however, I observed that medical student exposure to pathology was limited - that's why I would love to join PERKS, to help promote pathology as a speciality and garner more interest amongst students.

I have extensive experience in running social media accounts for a variety of companies and societies, including for Scion Publishing (a medical publishing company) and LEADERS (the medical research society). I am well-versed in the production and promotion of social media content and how to reach out to students to increase engagement and reach for events. Having been at the medical school for many years, I have been able to develop a good network and connections with students in all years, making promotion for events easier and more effective. Furthermore, my commitment to my previously mentioned roles highlights not only my ability to create unique and interesting social media content, but also my enthusiasm and reliability for such a role.

I would be grateful to have the opportunity to work with other committee members towards a common goal of promoting pathology and research amongst students, hopefully generating a greater interest in this area. Hi everyone, my name is Charlotte and I am a 2nd-year medical student. I took part in an event run by PERKS during my first year of medical school and, ever since, I have developed an interest in all things Pathology! I have been eager to get further involved in other opportunities the society has to offer and believe that stepping into the role of Publicity and Social Media Secretary is a great way to, both, develop my own knowledge, as well as, help connect other like-minded individuals by promoting the recognition of PERKS amongst the wider student body.

I am confident that my skill set and character is well-suited to fulfil this role and I would be delighted for the chance to be a part of the PERKS committee. Personally, I have comprehensive experience in a range of social media platforms and am confident in my ability to create engaging content. Having studied art to AS level and continuing it as a hobby, I enjoy design in all types of media. I would love the opportunity to integrate my passion into the role of Publicity and Social Media Secretary to create vibrant posters and advertisements to complement the work of the Event Coordinators. Furthermore, I believe that I have a good existing network with students from all 5 years of medical school and am comfortable reaching out to wider networks, both, online and in-person to help raise the society’s profile.

I have throughly enjoyed all the events run by PERKS so far and greatly appreciate the dedication the committee have put into building the society. I would love to use this opportunity as a way to demonstrate my own commitment, and to make a positive contribution as a PERKS committee team member.
