I would love to be a part of the NutriTank society as the Events Officer. I am very passionate about promoting healthy living in a fun and exciting way, to make it desirable to all.

From a young age, I have been involved in sport leading me to compete in Athletic’s and cross country nationally. Therefore, exercising and following a healthy, balanced diet has become second nature and engrained in my routine. Now being a 3rd year medical student, I focus on the mental and emotional benefits of exercise and healthy living in order to boost my mood and manage a demanding degree. I would love to be a part of a society that spreads this key message and focuses on helping others adopt healthier habits!

Also, I am particularly interested in optimising lifestyle to prevent disease. Witnessing the effect of patients making small, daily changes to their health while on placement motivated me to get involved in preventative medicine and therefore I am keen to hold events educating people about the physical and mental benefits of healthy living.

Additionally, I am a level 2 Athletic’s coaching assistant which involves organising and delivering training sessions, competitions and taster sessions for children 10-18yrs. As a result, I’ve gained an understanding of how to deliver lifestyle education in a palatable way. I have also completed a level 2 Sports Leader qualification which involved me designing sport specific sessions to 16-18yrs with learning difficulties. Hence I have experience planning fitness events for people of varying ability.

Finally, I was selected by British Athletics to attend Loughborough College alongside my A-levels in order to complete a comprehensive course focused on nutrition, psychology and goal setting in order to propel sporting performance. Consequently, I’ve developed extensive knowledge I believe would be transferable as Events Officer for NutriTank society.

If I become Events Officer, I would love to collaborate with other academic and sporting societies to deliver high energy events, promoting lifestyle and medicine education to all and also intend to work closely with the Education Officer to optimise events in every way possible!

I hope I have managed to portray my passion for nutrition, lifestyle and medicine education and that I will be considered for this role.
