As a Sustainability and Consultancy student I understand the significance of a student-lead consultancy and the importance of supporting small businesses in becoming more sustainable. I also understand that this is an amazing opportunity for our students to showcase their skills as consultants and gain experience to up their CVs! I want to support our Director in ensuring that both businesses and students gain a memorable experience in LSSC.

I have experience in project management with strong organisational skills and absolutely love getting stuck into a good project. I enjoy challenges and have the best interests of others at heart. I am passionate about sustainability and although we can’t change much individually, helping direct a team to change the local community would make me very proud.

I am eager to make sure everyone is heard no matter how confident you are in your skills. I relate to feeling imposter syndrome and not feeling good enough so I aim to help others develop their confidence in LSSC and consider any accessibility adjustments required. I also aim to help arrange networking events so our members can learn directly from those in the Sustainability Consultancy professionals. Finally, I would like to support socialisation within LSSC. Many of us are new in Leeds for our postgrad so I would support the Director and Social Secretary in making fun and open social events to make our studies a little more fun! Hi, my name is Max, I'm a 22-year-old masters student enrolled in Transport Planning and Environment. I'm an outdoorsy person with a love for walking, cycling, and occasionally mountain biking, and also an eager enjoyer of music (Big love for RnB). I come from Wales (shwmae!) and have always lived around nature, and from that I've developed a strong passion for sustainability and protecting our beautiful environment. While I was doing my Civil Engineering undergrad, I started volunteering in an urban garden in Swansea. It was so fulfilling to be involved in, and by helping to fix planters, improve facilities and get the community involved I believe I have gained a lot of skills that would benefit the society. I'd also like to think that my practical background in Civil Engineering would bring a unique perspective to LSSC and the projects and opportunities that we could get involved in. Since being here in Leeds, I've met with members of the Leeds Climate Action Group, and I am excited about the vision they have for change in the Leeds area and can see a major opportunity for LSSC to provide its wealth of knowledge to help further their aims among other important projects. While consulting is the primary aspect, I think the society should also just be a place for likeminded people to meet, and it would be great to get involved in planning fun socials so that people can have fun and maybe find new connections. Overall, I'm just excited to be part of what looks like a really promising society, and I hope that I can make a good contribution to our team!
