Hi everyone, my name is Maeve and I am running for the director role for the LSSC.
A bit about me: I am currently doing my MSc in Sustainability and Consultancy, following my undergraduate in Sociology. I have had previous experience on a committee as the Social Secretary of the Northern Society in Bristol (and yes! That was a real society). I planned and organised 10+ social events, with over 40 members, with events such as pub crawls, club night and quizzes! I want to bring that expertise to this society by organising real world consultancy projects and having an open space for students, irrespective of their academic backgrounds or years of study. In essence, I envision the LSSC as an inclusive space where everyone, regardless of whether they want to work on projects or simply connect with like-minded individuals interested in sustainability and consultancy, can feel welcome.

Like many of you, sustainability is something that I have long been interested in and I am enthusiastic about making a meaningful impact through offering professional advice to businesses that may not have the means to hire a sustainability consultant. My aim with the society is:

• To organise networking events with industry professionals and our members
• To produce sustainability consultancy projects for small businesses
• To create an inclusive environment to allow people from any background to enter the world of sustainability consultancy
• Have regular socials, with a mixture of drinking and non-drinking events

I want LSSC to outlast this year and create a good basis for new or current students to build upon. As Director, I will be organised, dedicated and will take on student feedback so we can build this society together!
