I am applying to be the treasurer of LUUTIS because I want to help develop the society. As a 2nd-year student who has already had experience being the treasurer of a university residence as well as being one of the 2023/2024 portfolio managers, I believe I have the ideal skills to propel LUUTIS forward.

I plan to optimize the finances of the society as well as help bring in more interesting opportunities for members to interact with LUUTIS. I am keen on reworking how the trading competition works which will involve getting some bigger brands on board to sponsor our events.

With my strong background in real-world financial accounting, derived from both the success of my own e-commerce business and multiple internships at accounting firms, I aim to enhance strategic financial management of the society through innovative funding and sponsorship opportunities.

I am committed to increasing career talks, guest lectures and financial skills workshops by leveraging my network and experience. Not only will this enhance members' financial literacy and understanding of the financial industry, but will ensure that members can apply teachings to real-world scenarios.

I actively recognise the role of technology in modern finance and am keen to incorporate financial software to streamline society operations with the goal of improving event management, member engagement, and our approach to learning about finance. I'm committed to working closely with the society's committee and members, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's ideas and contributions are valued.

What can I offer you?

In line with LUUTIS's objective of organizing insight events and company insight days for the upcoming academic year, I plan to collaborate with companies and subsidize transportation to and from such events.

Moreover, I aim to introduce a virtual trading competition in collaboration with the society, spanning 2-3 months, which would be separate from the current virtual fund. This competition will provide participants with virtual currency, offering a distinctive opportunity for engagement, skill development, and the chance to earn a certificate of participation.

Furthermore, based on the feedback received from you all, I aim to allocate funds for hikes, dinners, and various events. This will offer members the chance to cultivate strong connections with the committee and provide an opportunity to gain insights from their experiences.

Finally, I place a high priority on addressing the needs and desires of the society members. I am committed to listening to everyone's preferences regarding what they believe would help them advance in their respective career paths, and I am determined to implement them accordingly.

Am I suited for the role?

My impeccable performance in the financial accounting module, where I attained a perfect score, along with my distinction as the top achiever in accountancy during high school, underscores my strong numerical aptitude. Furthermore, having co-founded a financial club at my school has provided me with ample experience in working within a society, making me an ideal candidate for this position.
