Dear fellow LUUTIS members,

I am Vasiliki Kyriakou, a penultimate year Accounting and Finance student. I currently serve as the Event Manager for the Greek and Cypriot Society, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for the position of Careers Secretary of LUUTIS for the upcoming year.

As the Careers Secretary, I aim to leverage and expand my professional network with prominent firms within the industry with the ultimate goal of organising events that connect members with industry professionals and career pathways. These events will encompass sessions with guest speakers with hands-on experience, networking opportunities, guidance to excel in the application process, simulations and more.

Last but not least, being a member of 100 Women in Finance could potentially give rise to further opportunities targeted towards women seeking to network and deepen their understanding of the sector.

Having completed and being set to complete internships at a wide range of financial institutions in various different areas, I’m passionate about helping people get into the roles they want in an industry that can be difficult to penetrate even for the most qualified candidates.

I am Isha Agarwal, presenting my candidature for the position of Career's Secretary in the LUUTIS.

Being grounded by a wide range of internships and insight experiences with different companies in the feilds of finance and having professional networks motivated me to work for the welfare of all by working towards the career opportunities of the members in LUUTIS. Backed by my passionate interests in the investments and the corporate world, being the economics course representative and having won the deans prize for performance makes me feel best suited about the role.

Dear LUUTIS Members,

My name is Joe Walker, a 1st Economics BSc student here at the University of Leeds and I am running for LUUTIS Careers Secretary 24/25

I recognise that the primary aspiration driving students to join LUUTIS is to deepen their knowledge of the financial industry, paving the way for careers in fields like Investment Banking, Private Equity, and beyond. My goal is to facilitate members in achieving this objective through the following initiatives:

I will provide members with a tailored application tracker tool, offering options to track various stages of the application process, whether it's Hirevue, Assessment Centre, or final interviews. This tool aims to streamline the application process, ensuring members stay organised and maximize their chances of success.

Secondly, I seek to host workshops led by external recruitment experts, who boast experience in recruiting for top firms across the UK. These workshops will give each member invaluable insights in order to create standout CVs and Cover Letters

I aim to develop a comprehensive set of resources aimed at aiding members in securing coveted opportunities such as spring weeks and internships. Drawing inspiration from the extensive resources provided by the LSE Business and Finance Society which includes over 32 pages of tips tailored to each stage of the application process. Alongside this, I will provide a collection of technical questions and resources acquired through extensive networking.

Finally, I also seek to Create a spreadsheet of UK firms to contact via cold calls or emails. This exclusive resource will serve as a starting point for members seeking speculative internships or work experience, ensuring they have access to a list of potential opportunities available only to LUUTIS members.

Through these initiatives, I am committed to playing a pivotal role in empowering LUUTIS members to excel in their pursuit of careers within the financial industry.
