I started playing squash at the age of 10. There hasn’t really been a time since where squash hasn’t been a part of my life. I played competitively through the latter half of my school and then in the BUCS at university. I have been a member of the squash society since day one of my university and I have, for the lack of words to describe it – Loved my time here. I have enjoyed my squash in ways I previously hadn’t, whether it be the training of recreational squash. I have always looked forward to the socials where I have met some amazing people and made the best of friends. It would be a great pleasure in having a major role in decision making as well as representing the club.

This year, I was a part of the committee as the society’s Tour and Tournament Secretary and also captained the men’s team. The most important feature of these roles is that I have been able to understand the workings of the committee and liaised with members and union staff. But most importantly, it has helped me interact with the people of the society and understand the member. In the many years that squash has been a part of my life, I have been able to see it as not just a sport but as a community. As president I would be focussed on improving the training and recreational play side of things but also be focussed on building a strong sense of community by ensuring a smooth running of the squash sessions as well as organisation of events that would cater to the diverse range of requirements of all. As president I would make sure that everyone’s opinions and grievances are heard

I hope everyone is doing well. I am really excited for squash and the society next year and hope we can make it a year of good competitive and recreational squash as well as having a year where we can have a good time outside the four walls of the squash court.
