Hi everyone, my name is Roda Afeworki, and I’m running for the Open Seat position.
I want to be honest, I haven’t been the most active member of the society so far. But that’s exactly why I’m putting myself forward. I know what it’s like to not feel fully connected yet, and I want to help change that not just for myself, but for others too.
This role is about supporting the committee and looking out for the welfare of our members, and I believe I can do that by being dependable, approachable, and willing to step in wherever I’m needed.

If elected, I’ll make it a priority to:
• Actively support committee members in their roles and help wherever needed.
• Be someone people feel comfortable approaching, whether they need support or just someone to talk to.
• Help create a more welcoming and connected environment, especially for people who may feel on the outside.

I may not be the most familiar face yet, but I’m committed to showing up, getting involved, and contributing consistently.
