I would love the opportunity to become an Academic Rep for RadSoc because I am passionate about helping students make the most of their university experience, both academically and socially. I am dedicated to ensuring students have access to CPD sessions and academic events that are genuinely useful, engaging, and tailored to their specific interests in radiography. As members you can expect that I will be reliable to organise speakers and events in topics that students are most interested in. Covering topics that will help us develop into confident and competent radiographers in the future.

I am particularly interested in exploring the different interests members may have across a range of imaging modalities and I am confident in liaising with staff from those specialist areas to organise talks specific to those interests. I understand how valuable it is to gain insight into different career paths and specialties throughout university, and I would aim to create opportunities that help students feel more informed and inspired about their future careers.
I also recognise that thinking about placement progression, applications, and post-university jobs can feel quite daunting. Because of this, I would like to help organise talks and sessions focused on employability and what life after university can realistically look like. Helping students feel more prepared and supported.

As a person, I am friendly, approachable, reliable, and always happy to have a chat regarding any concerns, suggestions, or ideas students may have. I want students to feel comfortable voicing their opinions and know that they will be listened to. Alongside supporting students academically, I also want to help make RadSoc welcoming and enjoyable by bringing new ideas and creating events that encourage a positive sense of community within the course.

Overall, I would be committed to representing students’ interests, creating valuable opportunities, and helping make the university experience as supportive, engaging, and enjoyable as possible for everyone.

Hi, I'm Sumaiyah, and I'm running to be one of RADSOC's academic reps for next academic year! This year I have worked closely with the committee as First-Year Rep to ensure freshers can attend socials and other events without it clashing with academic responsibilities. I am an organised, persistent student who will stop at nothing to ensure CPD isn't just limited to qualified radiographers. Through my experience being a course and clinical rep I would also ensure students have a voice in recommending modalities they feel would benefit them the most, and if elected, I would build on the amazing achievements and learning from this year's Study Day. I hope you consider me to be one of your academic reps!! 3

I am a second year student studying diagnostic radiography, and I would be honoured to be Rad Soc's Academic Representative. I've gained a solid grasp of the academic and professional difficulties radiography students may encounter during the last two years, both at university and on placement, and I would appreciate the chance to support and advocate for my peers.

I’m approachable, organised, and a good listener, and I want students to feel comfortable coming to me with any concerns, ideas, or feedback they may have. Strong communication between students and staff is crucial, in my opinion, and I would work to make sure that everyone's opinions are heard while also fostering a welcoming and positive learning atmosphere.

Additionally, I'm excited to participate in CPD events and assist in setting up chances that will help students succeed academically and professionally. I want to assist in organising interesting events and activities that promote education, career advancement, and student participation in the radiography community.

I have a strong interest in radiography and sincerely want to make the course better for all of the students. I would be dedicated to serving as a professional student representative, encouraging diversity within Rad Soc, and making university life as pleasant and encouraging as I can.

I’m an outgoing and committed person who has already spent this year as a student rep on placement, so I understand how to represent your views and make sure your voice is heard. I’m keen to continue building on that experience in this role.

Hi, my names Erin, I’m currently a 2nd year and I’m applying for academic rep!

I think CPD events are great for expanding your knowledge and discovering potential interests. I have really enjoyed attending them before so I would be excited to get involved organising them ☺️

I’d also enjoy getting involved with organising any other academic events as I’m approachable and I would like to build my leadership and organisation skills. I work well in teams and I would enjoy being a member of the RadSoc committee!
