Equality & Liberation Officer makes sure that the campus and the city champion equality and diversity, and that every student has a voice. They work on the Liberation Hub, and the Fix the Cistem campaign, and they champion the voices of underserved students.
Previously the Equality and Liberation Officer achieved;
· Successfully lobbied for the introduction of a permanent liberation space in the Union
· Campaigned for the University to change their naming system for students, supported by our Trans-Inclusive LUU Policy
· Started a Gender Expression Fund at the Union
Position Candidates

Vaibhav Soni
- Create a safe space for international marginalised students
- Working towards more inclusive learning spaces for everyone
- Work closely with societies, networks and faith groups

Saffy Farid
- More counselling, get suicide data, create accessible links
- Support for ignored women’s health, e.g recorded seminars
- Better support for Palestinian advocacy groups on campus

Yushu Chen
- Accessible & inclusive in eating, drinking & resting
- Empower liberation groups through forums, funds & events
- Enhance facilities & wellbeing with working PC & 24/7 gym

Elizabeth Wafula
- Advocate free training for equal job opportunity access.
- Advocate partnerships between the university and recruiters
- Improve access for disabled students

Ashley Pearce
- Open LGBTQ+ hub with free blood tests and privacy screen
- Experience with LUU on Activities Exec and LSC
- Therapy access, dimmer switches and end initiations
