I’m running to be your Pre-Clinical Rep for LUMPS because I think paediatrics should be one of the most engaging, exciting parts of pre-clinical life — not something that only starts in year 4.

Right now, it can feel a bit distant… lots of theory, not much real-world connection. I want to change that. Think fun, interactive sessions, early exposure to paediatrics, and events that actually make you *want* to get involved.

Why pick me?
I’ll actually listen to what you want and bring your suggestions forward into planning events you’ll genuinely enjoy — not just what sounds good on paper. I’m organised, proactive, and I follow through, so ideas won’t just stay ideas.

I’m also genuinely enthusiastic about paediatrics, and I want to build a friendly, welcoming community where everyone feels comfortable getting involved — whether you love paeds already or are just curious.

Hi I'm Adithi, a 2nd year medical student and I would love your vote to be the pre-clinical rep for LUMPS!

I have a huge passion for paediatrics and child health, having attended this years' LUMPS conference and being an active member of Teddy Bears Hospital on regular visits.

If elected, I will make sure communication is clear and consistent by actively sharing opportunities and events across year group chats, so no one misses out. I also want to ensure that we have more events tailored towards pre-clinical students, whether that’s introductory teaching, informal talks, or early exposure to paediatrics in a way that feels approachable rather than overwhelming.

I’d also be keen to gather feedback from students and pass this on, so the society can better reflect what younger years actually want. Alongside this, I’m happy to get involved in supporting larger events like conferences and GIAGs to help them run smoothly.
I’m organised, approachable, and proactive, and I’d aim to be a reliable point of contact between the society and pre-clinical students.

Hi, I’m Gopika and applying for Pre-Clinical Rep because I want to improve how events are advertised for younger year groups. For instance , from personal experience I have found some of the National Paediatric Teaching sessions , highly relevant for preclinical students. However because they’re marketed as more relevant for final-year students, this tends to reduce attendance and engagement.

As First Year Rep for Orthosoc and Eyesoc, and University Rep for the British Indian Medical Organisation, I’ve developed skills in event planning, communication, and teamwork to boost student engagement. I’d use these to promote events through WhatsApp and social media, share quick “what’s on” updates, and tailor activities to better suit early-year students and conferences. Being part of the medics and dentists badminton team has also strengthened my teamwork, which I’d bring to the committee

My work experience in neonatal and paediatric units sparked my enthusiasm for paediatrics, and I’m keen to contribute to a society that encourages curiosity and professional growth while representing the interests of early-year students.
