I would love the opportunity to be Vice President of the Leeds University Paediatrics Society next year, to work along side and support the President and while committee! I’ve really enjoyed being Secretary this year and getting involved in all aspects of LUMPS, especially helping to organise the conference and support teaching sessions and events. Being part of such a friendly and enthusiastic society has really strengthened my passion for paediatrics, particularly during my fourth-year placements.

As President, I’d love to help continue the success and future of LUMPS by organising meetings, supporting events and helping the committee work well together. I’m enthusiastic, approachable and always happy to get stuck in. I’m also doing my paediatrics elective in Nepal this summer, and I’d love to bring back new experiences and ideas to share with the society, and especially help others to organise their own paediatrics electives!

My name is Rivonia, and I would love to put myself forward for the role of Vice President of LUMPS for the coming year.

I have felt incredibly privileged to be part of the committee this year as Treasurer and have thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the society. Throughout the year, I have been involved in organising the conference, creating new committee merchandise, securing funding to support society events, and contributing to paediatric education through writing mock OSCEs and helping run teaching sessions.

My passion for paediatrics began through my work as a care worker in a nursery and through my involvement with Teddy Bear Hospital.
Being part of the LUMPS committee has only strengthened this passion further, and I would love the opportunity to continue helping the society grow and support our student community even more.

I believe my previous leadership experience, including taking a leading role in organising the Halfway Ball last year alongside my involvement in other societies and my paediatric experiences both within and outside of LUMPS has prepared me well for a leadership position such as Vice President.

As vice president I would love to bring more paediatric teaching throughout the year as well hosting more events to help younger years explore what paediatrics may mean as a career and get older students more advice regarding how to bolster applications. Working with other societies to join forces and collaborate on more events would also be something I’d love to help develop.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my role in LUMPS as treasurer and I would be very grateful for your consideration as vice president!
