Hi everyone, I’m Mridula, a 1st year medical student, and I’m applying to be your Social Media Rep for Leeds University Paediatrics Society next year!

LUMPS has really strengthened my passion for paediatrics this past year because of its friendly, approachable, and welcoming community, and I’d love the opportunity to contribute back by helping shape the society’s online presence.

I’ve always had a strong interest in child health, developed through experiences including Teddy Bear Hospital visits, child health clinics during GP placements, and volunteering for 6 years in a youth-led mental health forum alongside mentoring younger students at school.

I have always enjoyed content creation and I was able to refine this further by representing Article 12 and Youth Voice at a regional CAMHS conference, where I helped create and deliver engaging presentations advocating for reducing stigma surrounding adolescent mental health.

Alongside this, I have experience managing and creating content through involvement in school societies and committees, which has strengthened my creativity, organisation, and understanding of how to communicate effectively online.

I have also received awards in essay programmes, including the Homerton College Essay Programme, for my essay on tackling childhood obesity through the UK Soft Drinks Levy, further developing my ability to communicate important topics in an engaging and accessible way.

Through my involvement in my school’s MedSoc and Dance Committee, I have gained experience promoting events, coordinating with teams, and helping create engaging content for students. I genuinely enjoy content creation and social media, and I would work hard to maintain the high standard set by previous Social Media Reps while also bringing fresh, creative, and exciting ideas for posts and promotion.

Hi everyone, my name is Carys and I would love to run your social media this year! I am now coming to the end of my second year and throughout medical school I have attended lots of LUMPS events and always admire how well organised and publicised they are. As someone who is passionate about paediatrics, I would love the chance to contribute to the society by joining the committee and helping shape our societies online presence.

I believe I would be suitable for this role because I am very organised so will ensure posts are scheduled to go up at the correct times. Also I love posting on my own account so I am familiar with the process of creating content, this is something I really enjoy to do. My key aim is to maintain the high standard that previous social media reps have set whilst also creating a new style of posts that are creative and exciting. As I have not yet done my paediatric placement, I also understand the importance of communicating with clinical reps to ensure that the information shared online is relevant to the teaching/placement in later years.

Hi, I'm Violet! I am currently in my second year of medicine, and going into next year, I would love to be social media rep for LUMPS!

I have always had a passion for paediatrics, and so I would love to be able to share this with other people through strengthening communication and student engagement as the social media representative.

I want to continue to make LUMPS' social media welcoming, active and informative for all students interested in paediatrics. I will do this by putting in time and effort to create fun and engaging posts to showcase events, celebrate members and engage with the society to ensure more students get involved in all the amazing opportunities LUMPS has to offer.

I believe social media is one of the most important forms of communication and using my experience on social media and experience with Canva, Instagram, TikTok and my very high screen time for a medical student, I will bring creative ideas for posts, event promotion and educational content for the society.

I am organised, reliable and approachable, and would be excited to work with the committee, ensuring regular communication with members and students both online and in person!

Hi, my name is Zainab, and I would like to be the LUMPS social media rep next year. I am very interested in paediatrics and enjoy creating social media content in my free time, making me well motivated for this role.

I have plenty of Canva experience, and I will aim to make all social media posts concise, accessible, and visually appealing. Furthermore, from posting on time to collaborating effectively with other team members, I believe I will be able to maintain LUMPS strong social media presence whilst presenting information in a new style.

In addition to content creation, I will aim to promptly respond to messages on the LUMPS social media accounts, efficiently addressing questions or directing them to the relevant websites, members, or posts.
