I believe that club socials are not only a great way for current members to mix and get to know each other but also for attracting new members. Hence allowing the club to grow. Therefore, the socials should be planned with care. Having been to the vast majority of squash socials I have seen what works well and what doesn't, enabling me to know how to plan a great social. Speaking to other members has also given me a good sense of what kind of nights out would work well. I realise that taking on social sec requires a lot of planning however, I believe that my organisational skills and love of the sport would help me be a great social sec. Having played in the first team and gone to many of the socials I know a lot of the society, which would help me in reaching out to people when organising socials. I am open to the idea of sharing the role with another committee member should there be anyone else interested.
