Treasurer

I have thoroughly enjoyed being apart of the squash society this year as I have not only made new friends but also gained game experience whilst improving my fitness. I would love to not only be apart of this society next year but to also help it to improve. This year I have been an active member in the squash society, playing as apart of the women's 1 team and also completing the role as captain- helping to organise teams and scores every week. I specifically would love to be treasurer as I feel this is the best fit for me. I currently am studying engineering so I would consider maths and excel to be a strong point of mine which will be extremely useful for this role. Studying engineering whilst also having a range hobbies has given me good organisational skills. I have an outgoing bubbly personality and would love to be someone who members feel they could come to with ideas and any worries they have about the society. I would then do whatever I can to support this. I hope to be given the opportunity to work as apart of this society and help it to run.

Hi, I’m James – a 2nd year Civil Engineer – and I am eager to be elected as your Squash Treasurer. I have been to most socials, so you probably have seen me (most likely in a very tipsy state). Other than looking at bridges, squash has been a huge highlight for me this past year and I would be thrilled to get involved with the operating of the society and run the books/spreadsheets. If I was elected, one of my initial objectives would be to help the committee get more members/freshers to sign up for the society in order to increase the budget of the society, which would fund more great events for you, the members. An important aim of mine as treasurer is to be on top of handling travel expenses so that team members get their money back ASAP. Most importantly, I want every member to have a memorable time, whether that’s playing squash for the first time or getting involved in the weekly socials.
