I am Erika King, and I will be going into my 4th year studying Food Science and Nutrition. I have just come back from a year out on Placement. I have been part of the squash society in my first and second year (although most of the second year we didn’t get to train due to covid) so I am really looking forward to being part of the squash society again this year.
I am applying for the role as secretary. Having experience being the Food Science and Nutrition Course Representative in my second year and also having a year working in the Corporate business world, both roles required me to communicate with new people and also keep on top of emails and answer queries that people might have. My ability to multitask and be organised will be a skill applied when taking minutes during committee meetings or when required to do administrative work. I would describe myself as approachable and friendly which should hopefully help in the role as secretary and encourage new students to enquire after the squash committee or for existing members to feel comfortable asking questions.
