I would love to be vice president for the squash society. As the captain of the women’s first team, I had to ensure the transport, scores and punctuality of the players which has help to develop my organisation skills. I believe that my experience will benefit the future captains next year as I will be happy to lead or advise them in their role.
As a rec coach, I came across many students who were very excited to join the squash society, as the vice president I will make sure that LUU squash is as inclusive and welcoming as it can be. I would work on making the provisions better that are given to beginners as well as provide them with more guidance. With the popularity of the Christmas tournament this year, I will do my best and work hard to help organise more squash related events so all levels of players can meet.
Squash has always been an important part of my life but, it more importantly made my life at university more enjoyable. I met a lot of my friends in training and at social events so I know that I am able to welcome new members and make the society as great and welcoming as it has been for me and even make it better. I would love to help and see squash grow and want to make it as enjoyable as it can be for all members.
