Me? Again? Afraid so. I'm a little bit too into Lippy to let it go in my final year. It is the backbone of my time at University!
In all seriousness, I would love the opportunity to lead Lippy for another year. This year has brought me so much joy. To be able to hold a space for people to express themselves creatively and create raw, true, urgent work. I am constantly amazed by the talent Lippy Magazine has and would adore to be around such amazing people for another year.

This year has been an absolute blast in Lippy, we have successfully created two print issues, the first of which sold out in record time (and the second of which we are hoping will as well...). We received an immense amount of submissions for both print issues and our engagement is at an all time high.

I completely overhauled the style of meetings for Lippy this year to huge success, something I would continue and instate more regularly should I be Editor-In-Chief again as I think they are a crucial space for people to come together and discuss exactly what we should be talking about as outspoken creatives. I limited the amount of meetings this year as I didn't want them to feel forced however from feedback I've received I think that their regularity will be of benefit and not determinate.

I also have worked to make the society more sociable, something which I believe I have at least partially achieved. I have worked what does and doesn't work in terms of Lippy Socials and would look to pursue different ideas next year, collabing with other societies and work to more structured event based socials.

My main mission for next year would be to have the magazine sold elsewhere than the Launch and University, this is a tricky thing to achieve as I have learnt this year facing block after block from LUU. I now know the road around this and therefore have the capabilities and the knowledge to expand the magazines reach external to the University and within the wider Leeds creative scene.

If re elected as Editor-in-Chief, I have a vision to further develop the outspoken ‘Lippy’ ethos which makes the magazine unique. I will continue to diversify further the topics and views showcased by Lippy. The magazine should have a constant commitment to bringing about change and challenging the world in which we work.

I want to remove the barrier between creative and journalistic and bring together both sections of the magazine to work alongside each other. I want to start a series of Art Exhibitions, to broaden our creative reach and provide more opportunities for artists.

All in all, it would be an honour to continue to facilitate a space where students can express themselves and have their voices heard. There is nothing more important. I truly believe that by not having to spend months getting to grips with how to run Lippy next year (because I know how to do that!) I can spend more time developing and progressing the society to be better than ever before.
