Hello! My name is Lauren Stretch, I am in my first year studying psychology, and I would like to nominate myself to become a social secretary for the coming year! Since starting at the university in September, I have been a proud member of psycsoc and attended many of the socials, which have allowed me to meet lots of new people across different years and make good friends with my course mates. I thrive in planning and organising events for my friends and like meeting new people, so I think I would really enjoy taking on this role! As social sec, I think organising regular socials would help establish strong friendships among members, and offering a wide variety of events would ensure everyone's idea of a good time is accommodated for, making the society inclusive and accessible for all that want to get involved. I would not feel satisfied until all members feel included in the society! Psycsoc contributed immensely to helping me build friendships and settle in quickly to university life, and I would love the opportunity to help others have this same positive experience!

Hi I'm danni and I'll be going into my second year of psychology with education, I am applying for social secretary as throughout this year i have had so much fun going out with the society and want to continue these events next year and contribute to the making of them. I am very approachable and social and really enjoy meeting new people and love to make a safe, fun environment for people to feel part of as i feel it is important to have a society that is open to all where there is no judgement. My first friends i made in psychology were from the first social i attended and they've now become some of my closest friends in university. I have also had lots of experience of leading and organizing events as i was head girl in sixth form and took pride in organizing events for my peers and thrived working with others on my team. Therefore i would work really well with the committee and will be open to everyone's ideas. I would love to organize events that cater to everyone's interests in plenty of time so people are able to make space and time in there busy university schedules and i would do this by communicating closely with the social media secretary. These socials could include club nights, movie nights, creative nights and pre's at different places for people to visit in the city. I would like to make these events accessible for everyone so no one feels they can't attend for any reason. Most of all i want everyone in the society to have as much fun as possible so themed nights out would defiantly be a must! I also think raising money for charity is so important so i would love to organize socials such pub quizzes, bake sales etc to support those less fortunate. As social secretary i will make it my upmost priority that everyone is comfortable and has a great time at every social and i would be very grateful to take on the role of social sec and to work collaboratively to keep psychsoc an amazing place to spend your time.

I am Ella Thornton, I would love to take on the role of social sec in my second year in psychology at Leeds. I have absolutely loved the socials the committee has provided this year, I love meeting new people and making friends and I love to make sure everyone can have a great time and feels comfortable around others. I think I am a welcoming and friendly person and would love to organise events that other members of the committee would be interested in. This opportunity would allow me to achieve my goal of becoming more ambitious and spontaneous at university.
