The Welfare & Inclusivity Officer is responsible for ensuring the society remains a welcoming, safe, and inclusive space for all members. They act as the first point of contact for members with any welfare concerns.
Although all committee members will be equally responsible for all areas of the society, the Welfare & Inclusivity Officer role focuses on:
- Reporting welfare incidents to LUU when appropriate.
- Implementing effective policies that support the development of an inclusive society, attracting and retaining members from across the University of Leeds student community.
- Advising the Committee about the possible impact of activities from an equality and inclusion perspective.
- Supporting members and the committee to consider and implement requests for reasonable adjustments.
- Organising SASHA accreditation.
- Signposting members to LUU Support services if concerns or issues arise.
- Helping ensure society events are accessible, welcoming, and comfortable for all members.
- Supporting initiatives that promote inclusivity within the society (e.g. collaborative or themed events such as Women and Non-Binary Gaming Day).
