This is my first year in Backstage, I've really enjoyed being part of such a creative and educational society. I'd love the opportunity to get more involved next year, which is why I'm running for Publicity and Communications.
I understand that Publicity and Communications is a very important role for Backstage. As a society that relies heavily on consistent communication for events, meetings and opportunities, it is essential for members to stay informed and engaged. Through clear updates and strong promotion, I want to help encourage participation, highlight all the amazing and hard work backstage does and make sure no one misses out on opportunities to get involved.

Hi, I'm Cosmo, and I would love to be your next Publicity and Communications officer for backstage next year.

I believe it is very important to recognise how crucial clear communication is in a society such as ours, given our fast pace and busy workflow, with so many shows, events, and roles happening all the time. There is a need to make information more accessible to all members to improve the experience for society members. Backstage is sometimes overlooked, but making it feel more visible and appreciated helps, and I would improve this by engaging with and highlighting the behind-the-scenes work, ensuring all backstage areas are equally visible. In addition, I am passionate about showing the public how much fun backstage is by ensuring the information they need is clear, centralised and easy to find.

I am very excited to work closely with the Event Officer and the committee to ensure that all events, inside and outside the shows, are kept up to date and all of you remain informed. These events are very important for both new and current members, as they help people who aren't working on the show connect; they bring together people from all across backstage, who may not be working the same shows or in related roles, but are all valued and talented members of the society. By making posts feel like they truly belong to backstage society, rather than just generic, we can help attract more members and grow as a community, ensuring people feel more involved in this society, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all, which is essential.
