Hello :)) I’m Sophie!

I am currently Secretary of Backstage, and was events officer before this. Both of these roles have allowed me to gain insight into how committee operates internally and externally with the LUU, as both an exec member and more social role. I have been in Backstage for 3 years now and have gained loads of knowledge that I think would prove very helpful in being President.

I absolutely love this society and would love to get to be a part of it again!! This year I have been involved in each show in some capacity and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The people I have worked with the past 3 years have shown me how lovely all members are, and if I were president I would want to strengthen the connection between members and committee further.

I also want to ensure performing societies understand better what we do and how each department works so shows can run more smoothly. I hope to do this through creating informative documents on each department and the overall running of a show, alongside meetings with other performing societies committees.

I also hope to ensure more training workshops happen next year to allow new members to understand how to develop and hone the skills they are truly interested in.

Backstage has been one of my favourite parts of uni and I’d be very grateful if I can keep being a useful member of the committee as your President, so please endorse me!
