Hi! I'm Lizzie and I would really like to be Safety and Welfare rep because I think I could do a great job for the society.

My qualifications:
I'm very organised and proficient at email sending so I would definitely be on top of communications with LUU.
I'm rather detail-oriented so you will never see that harrowing sight of an unhard-hatted head under unsupported decking if I am rep.
I have done 6 shows and am doing 2 more this year, almost all of them in the stage department, so I am well versed in the safety protocols of shows.
I will also fiercely defend you if you approach me with any welfare concerns (not kidding).
Finally, I also frequently threaten to snitch on people to Amy, so I feel I am ready to undertake this role.

Hi, I'm Paige, and I would love to be elected for safety and welfare for Backstage next year.
I understand how important safety is for a society handling so much equipment with so many members who have little to no experience, and will continue and uphold the practices already established, alongside making any necessary adjustments.

For me, one of the most important parts of this role will be making the society more welcoming and accessible for people who are new or irregularly attending members. There should be more information on what to expect at your first show, explanations available that can be accessed before show week and outside of the Riley. As Safety and Welfare Officer, I would want to be able to make and provide that to whoever may need it, to avoid placing that burden on already incredibly busy PMs.

I also look forward to being able to work with Events and Pubs and Comms because I think their role in society wellfare is massively understated right now. Social events are so, so key to improving the welfare of members, and these events can be easily advertised through well-managed social media. Members may not have the time to pour 20+ hours into a show at some points in their Uni life, but they still deserve to feel part of the society.
