Hey guys! I'm Ash. I'd love to be the Social Sec for LingSoc. I was on committee as Secretary this year just gone, and I would love to be a part of LingSoc again.

The Instagram page was vital to just how well LingSoc did last year, and I want that to continue. I'd love to continue Mealtime Mondays and Wellbeing Wednesdays, I think they were great in getting more members involved on the Instagram. I also just think they were fun and they should keep going.

As Secretary, I acted as a way for members to communicate with us on the committee at any time, and I promise to continue that as Social Sec. I will answer any messages to the Instagram. I want everyone to feel like they can approach and ask anything, no matter what it is. I want everyone to feel comfortable and have fun.

When it comes to socials, I want members to know they have a say just as much as the committee. Always feel free to offer suggestions, whether that by in-person, via email or the Instagram. Make LingSoc what you want it to be. And, when it comes to posts about socials, I'll make sure each one has the necessary details so they're easily accessible: times, locations, what the social's all about. I'll always be there to answer any other questions about them as well.

I'd like to also potentially expand LingSoc to doing collabs with other societies. We may be small, but that doesn't mean we can't give it our best shot. It'd be a way for everyone to meet new people, potentially find new interests, and make our society more well-known around campus. Let's make LingSoc famous guys!

With any ticketed socials, if members are struggling financially, I promise that I will work with the Treasurer and the other committee members to work something out. Everyone is welcome in LingSoc, and no should feel left out due to lack of funds. I'd be just one message away if anyone would need help with that.

LingSoc improved massively last year, and I'd love to help it grow even bigger. Everyone should have their say with socials, and everyone should feel welcome. I want to work with the committee to make sure that LingSoc this year will be even better. I hope you'll consider voting for me! Let's have some fun this year!
